Description
Not one of the best known Scottish railways, the Great North Of Scotland Railway covered the north east counties of Aberdeen, Banff and Moray. It served mainly an agricultural area which, apart from its river valley and coastal areas, would not attract many tourists, nevertheless it did give a lead in a surprising number of ways and was, at least during one period of its life, easily the best of all the smaller British railways. This book tells the story of that pugnacious and courageous little railway in the hope and belief that it has more than local interest.
